District Dinner is an opportunity for a night of fellowship and great food as we acknowledge and thank our adult volunteers for the hard work and dedication that made this year incredibly successful. Orion District’s outstanding leaders at the unit and district levels will also be recognized.  All volunteers in Orion District are invited.

Registration

The registration fee is typically $18 per person. 

Registration opens in December.

District Award Nominations

Due January 4, 2018

District Award of MeritNominate Scouters who have served Orion District youth above and beyond the call of duty. Nominations may be turned-in at December Roundtable. All award nominations are due to awards@oriondistrict.org.

Eligibility

Description

Community Leadership Award Any community leader Presented annually to a community leader who has provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district
Family of the Year Families with at least one BSA registered adult Presented annually to a family who has, as a group, provided outstanding support to the Scouting program in our district.
Most Valuable Scouter Award BSA registered adult leader Recognizes unit Scouters who everyone in the unit always seems to turn to when there is a need within the unit - every unit should nominate at least one!
Courageous Scouter Award BSA registered adult leader Honors a Scouter who, while facing their own personal challenges, provides exceptional leadership to youth at the unit level.
District Award of Merit BSA registered adult leader A council award presented to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.

Eligibility

Description

Gold Star Award (in Excel) All units Award for those Units who are fully providing the Scouting program and supporting the council and district. This award is self-nominated. All qualifying units can earn the Gold Star Award. The top unit of each type will receive the Platinum Star Award. See the Journey to Excellence forms.
Excellence in Training Award All units A council award to recognize those units who have set a high standard in leadership training. This award is self-nominated.
Chartered Partner Award All chartered partners A council award for chartered partners that have demonstrated excellence in their relationships.

Late-breaking news and announcements will be emailed to those registered and posted on the Orion District Facebook page.
